TLP Metal Building Insulation is a fine fibered flexible blanket of glass fibers, bonded with thermosetting resin to provide good dimensional and handling properties. It is specifically designed for use in steel building systems and is available plain (unfaced) or faced with a factory applied vapour barrier.
Faced
TLP offers a complete line of vapour barrier facings which are an integral part of the Metal Building Insulation System. The facing acts as a vapour barrier, provides excellent light reflectivity, and adds structural strength. Facings also function as an aesthetic interior finish. Our facings are produced by Lamtec Corporation. These are our standard, in stock facings:,WMP-50, WMP-10, WMP-VR-R, R-3035, Arenashield, and Gymguard. Take-offs: Simply provide us with drawings or blue prints (fax or e-mail) or just give us a call with the building dimensions and we will be happy to provide you with a custom cut list for your building. Lengths: All orders are custom made to fit your building. That means less waste going to landfill and more money in your pocket. Individual rolls are labeled with their size and location of installation. For those of you that want to avoid a joint at the ridge, TLP has modified their production facilities and offers the longest rolls available in the industry.
Tab Options: Several options are available for fastening the side tabs of the insulation rolls. It is typically the preference of the erector that makes this determination. Remember, it is vitally important that the rolls of insulation be butted tightly together during the tab fastening stage. Any gaps may result in condensation at the roof sheet.

Unfaced
Unfaced metal building insulation may also be used as an additional second layer or on its own in a sandwich wall or roof application. TLP uses only the finest raw materials in the production of Metal Building Insulation. Our unfaced rolls are manufactured by either Owens Corning or Certainteed (formerly Ottawa Fibre). While the R-values of the raw rolls as they are supplied to us may vary slightly from one manufacturer to the next, the following is a general guide and represents the minimum R-value we would provide for each thickness:

Widths
The following applies to both faced and unfaced rolls:
4 is our standard, in stock width. 3, 5 and 6 as well as custom widths are also available but we will need a little more notice (min. quantities may apply). Please see our section on AGRI-PLUS II for information on 16 and 24 wide rolls.

Packaging
All rolls packaged in Polyethylene bags. Faced MBI is wrapped in stretch film and labeled to show size and location of each roll.
Storage
Insulation should be stored in a dry elevated area and protected with a waterproof film. Arrange delivery so that it can be installed as soon as possible. If delays occur, it is best to open the poly bags to allow air circulation. Foil faced products like Arenashield must not be stored on or near freshly poured concrete to prevent corrosion.
